Job summary

Beartooth Billings Clinic in Red Lodge, MT seeks a Medical Assistant I to support patient care delivery and provide clerical assistance. You will collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, RNs and other staff to meet the physical, psychosocial, educational, and spiritual needs of patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) months related work experience in a health care environment required to develop proficiency in basic Medical Assistant procedures and processes encompassing all age groups, preferred.
• Successful completion of department orientation, skills competencies specific to department.
• Completion of mandatory HealthStream modules within two (2) months of hire (proof of completion of college medical terminology with a C or better; may be used in lieu of modules).
• Departments requiring basic IM injections must complete above requirements, CDC modules, and department skills competency. Along with Director and physician approval.
• Ability to obtain certification or registration within fifteen (15) months of hire through organizations approved by Beartooth Billings Clinic. If coming from a medical assisting program; must be obtained within 90 days of program completion.
• Must be able to reason independently and work with minimal guidance.
• Must be able to interpret data and make sound judgments based on those interpretations.
• Must deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise.
• Must be able to adapt to quickly changing priorities and schedules.
• Must be able to maintain good working relationships with all co-workers and the general public and use good judgment in recognizing scope and authority.

Responsibilities

Purpose and Scope of Position

This position interacts with both Beartooth Billings Clinic staff, customers, regulatory agencies and other health care providers.
