Job summary

Northern Montana Hospital (NMH) is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and the nursing staff in delivering care and to assist patients in understanding their treatment. The role requires a high school diploma and a commitment to maintaining professional communication with patients and team members.

  • One year experience in health care field/environment preferred.
  • Obtain Basic Life Support(BLS) Certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • Ability to successfully pass Background Check and Drug Screen.

  • Assist Medical Providers and nursing staff in delivery of medical care.
  • Support patient flow and clinical operations in a professional manner.
  • Ensure patients are educated about their care and treatment plans.

The not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital features a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and electronic medical record services. Our large, quiet labor/birthing rooms are private and located away from other patient care areas. The private patient rooms on the 5th floor Medical/Surgical Department boast views from every window.

Specialties of our active staff of doctors include Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Hematology, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, Pain Management, Pathology, Podiatry, Psychiatry, Psychology, Radiology and Women’s Health.

For the convenience of our patients, we also host visiting physicians at our clinics in the areas of:

  • Pediatric Pulmonology

  • Radiation Oncology
  • Nephrology

About the role

The Medical Assistant, under supervision of Clinic Director is responsible for assistance to the Medical Provider and nursing staff in the delivery of of medical care, assistance to the patient in compliance with and understanding of that care, and assistance in running an efficient and professional practice. The Medical Assistant will have knowledge relative to the ages of patients served.

Salary is commensurate with up to 10 years of experience.
