Job summary

Vera Whole Health, Inc. is seeking a dependable Medical Assistant to support providers and deliver high‑quality patient care across our four Ohio care centers: Polaris, Dublin, Easton, and Westerville.

You will room patients, record vital signs, assist clinicians, administer immunizations and perform phlebotomy. You’ll operate in an EMR, manage referrals, update records, and support front desk tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of Medical Assistant experience required.
  • Phlebotomy/lab draws experience required.
  • Experience administering injections and immunizations.
  • Experience working in an EMR system.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at all four locations.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and complete intake procedures.
  • Obtain and document manual vital signs in the EMR.
  • Assist providers during examinations and office-based procedures.
  • Administer immunizations, injections, and oral medications.
  • Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens for lab testing.
  • Process labs, swabs, and other patient samples.
  • Document accurately within the EMR and support front desk tasks as needed.

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Locations: Polaris, Dublin, Easton, and Westerville, OH

Join Vera Whole Health Vera Whole Health is seeking a dependable, patient-focused Medical Assistant to support our providers and deliver exceptional patient care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to providing outstanding service and clinical excellence. The Medical Assistant will support 2-4 providers and play an essential role in both clinical and administrative workflows across our care centers.

How will you make an impact & Requirements

Important Requirements Must be willing to work at all four Vera Whole Health care centers: Polaris Dublin Easton Westerville Locations are within approximately 20 minutes of one another Work location schedules are provided 3-4 weeks in advance 1-2 years of Medical Assistant experience required Must have experience with: Phlebotomy/lab draws Injections and immunizations Customer service Reliable attendance is essential Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple providers

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care Room patients and complete intake procedures Obtain and document manual vital signs in the EMR Assist providers during examinations and office-based procedures Administer immunizations, injections, and oral medications Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens for laboratory testing Process labs, swabs, and other patient samples Observe and document patient responses to treatments and procedures Provide patient education and support preventive care initiatives Track referrals, preventive care needs, and follow-up items Conduct patient outreach related to referrals, care gaps, and records requests Clinical & Administrative Support Manage provider inboxes and patient communications Complete prior authorizations and required documentation Make outgoing calls to patients regarding appointments, referrals, and follow-up care Document accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) Assist with appointment scheduling and patient registration as needed

Clinic Operations

Manage patient flow throughout the care center Prepare exam and procedure rooms using sterile and aseptic techniques Maintain inventory and restock clinical supplies Support front desk operations and answer multi-line phones when needed Serve as a professional representative of Vera Whole Health

Compliance & Quality

Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Follow OSHA, CLIA, infection prevention, and safety guidelines Complete quality assurance controls and documentation requirements Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Team Collaboration

Participate in team meetings and daily huddles Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to achieve patient care goals Support onboarding, training, and competency activities as needed Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required 1-2 years of Medical Assistant experience Experience performing phlebotomy/lab draws Experience administering injections and immunizations Experience working in an EMR system Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at all four locations Must provide proof of a negative/cleared TB test completed within the past 12 months Preferred Experience in primary care, family medicine, or value-based care environments Experience with prior authorizations and referral management Knowledge of sterilization, autoclaving, and infection-control practices

Compensation Range

Compensation Range: $17.10 to $27.00 The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
