Job summary

Westerville Primary Care in Westerville, OH is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our established, high-volume team. This in-person role offers weekday hours with benefits including health, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k) and more.

You will collect patient histories, take vital signs, perform EKGs, immunizations and point-of-care tests, and document in EPIC/EHR while upholding HIPAA regulations. Experience in outpatient primary care and EMR systems is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Completed a medical assistant training program.
• Outpatient/primary care experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems, EPIC preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards.
• Discretion with confidential information and professionalism.
• Excellent communication with patients and healthcare team.

Responsibilities

Job Overview

We are an established high-volume primary care office looking to add an ambitious, detail oriented medical assistant to our team. Located in the Westerville area, we provide care for patients of all ages. Full-time week day hours with benefits including health, dental, vision, PTO, 401K and more.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient information, including medical history, vital signs, and current symptoms, accurately documenting details in electronic health records (EHR) system
• Perform procedures such as EKG, hearing and vision screenings and phlebotomy
• Administer immunizations to patients from age infant to adult
• Point of Care testing including strep, COVID, influenza, A1C and others
• Manage medical documentation with precision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information

Requirements

• Successful completion of medical assistant training program
• Previous experience in the outpatient setting, with primary care experience highly desirable
• Proven experience with EMR/EHR management systems and medical software applications, EPIC preferred
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and nursing principles
• Knowledge of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare team members, and external agencies
• Demonstrated ability to perform procedures outlined above
