Job summary

OptumCare is hiring a Medical Assistant in Auburn, MA to provide front-line medical support in the GI/WLM department. This full-time role (38.75 hours/week) includes rooming patients, obtaining health histories, and performing phlebotomy, injections, and point-of-care testing.

The position requires a technical certification or 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience (or enrollment in an MA program) with preferred CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA certification. Benefits are provided per eligibility.

Qualifications

• Technical certification or 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience after training.
• Enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant program or EMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment & instruments.
• Room patients, obtain health history and check vital signs.
• Document patient care using electronic medical records software.
• Perform phlebotomy, urinalysis, and handle patient specimen samples.
• Administer medications and perform injections/immunizations.
• Assist providers with minor procedures and point-of-care testing.
