Job summary

Laredo Physicians Group in Texas is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a busy primary care and specialty practice. You will assist with examinations, take vital signs, prepare rooms, and document in the EMR per IPM guidelines.

The role involves front desk coverage, patient check-in/out, and collaboration with the care team to ensure a smooth patient experience. A Medical Assistant program completion and BLS/CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (clinic protocol).

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily clerical operations and answer multi-line phone lines.
• File patient charts and scan documents into files as needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups, including specialists.
• Pre-authorize prescriptions and clinical tests as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
