Job summary

The Trinity Health GI Medical Practice in Massachusetts is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for day shift. You will room patients, take vital signs, assist with procedures, collect specimens, and document in the EHR, while supporting smooth patient flow.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of related experience; a high school diploma is required, medical assisting training or certification is a plus, and we offer benefits from day one and opportunities for growth in a collaborative,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of six months related work experience is required.
• Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred; National Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms; prepares patients for examination and treatment.
• Obtains pertinent history and documents in the medical record; records chief complaint, medical/surgical history, allergies, medications, and vital signs.
• Processes and files lab/diagnostic results and clinical notes after physician review.
• Coordinates patient flow in the office and collaborates with receptionist to ensure timely visits.
• Assists front office staff by answering calls, scheduling appointments, and other tasks as needed.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Attach Resume - Come and join our dedicated GI Medical Practice Team! You will support patients and providers in a fast-paced specialty practice focused on digestive health. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Prepares exam rooms and helps maintain a smooth patient flow throughout the day. Ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, compassionate, and thrives in a collaborative clinical environment.

What you will do:

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms. Prepares patients for examination and treatment.

• Obtains pertinent history, enters into the medical record including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems, and takes/documents patient vital signs.

• Processes and files all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, clinical notes in patients’ chart after they have been reviewed by the physician.

• Coordinates patient flow in the office. Collaborates with receptionist to make certain that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner.

• Assists front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience is required

• Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred, National Certification as a Medical Assistant a plus

Pay Range: $18.00 - $26.10

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
