Allina Health is a not-for-profit health system serving Minnesota and western Wisconsin. This role provides support to providers and the nursing staff in delivering timely patient health care, including rooming patients, managing patient flow, and communicating with patients.

Shift: 8-hour day shifts, 0.8 FTE, no weekends, primarily at Mercy Specialty Center with potential to float. Requires Medical Assistant program and BLS; a $2,000 starting bonus is available for eligible external talent.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Medical Assistant program or a comparable healthcare education program with a similar scope of clinical training.
• Candidates with fewer than six (6) months of Medical Assistant experience must have completed a minimum of 160 hours of clinical externship or equivalent practicum.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients, manages patient flow and obtains adequate patient information/data.
• Performs injections and assists with procedures as delegated by Provider or RN.
• Supports patient care and reinforces information regarding tests, labs and treatment plans.
• Coordinates results of tests and procedures with provider or RN.
• May assist with patient transportation and front desk coverage as needed.
