Zusammenfassung

The Medical Assistant will work in ambulatory care within Cook Children's Dodson Medical Office Building, collaborating with physicians and advanced practice providers in the GI department.

Responsibilities include assisting in patient prep and delivery of ambulatory care per policies, applying the nursing process, and maintaining excellent customer relations. 40-hour work week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with on-site requirement in Texas.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or current MA certification required.
• Experience with vital signs, EMR documentation, and rooming patients is preferred.

Summary:

The Medical Assistant will function in collaborative practice with physician(s) and/or advanced practice provider(s) in an ambulatory care setting. Assists in the preparation and delivery of ambulatory patient care as directed by provider(s) and other licensed clinical personnel. Skillfully and consistently performs clinical duties per established departmental policies and procedures. The care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the ambulatory care setting with an emphasis on good customer relations.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma required.
• Either a graduate of an accredited MA school OR a current MA certification required.

Preferred Skills :

• Experience taking and accurately documenting vital signs
• Experience updating patient information in the electronic medical record
• Experience rooming patients in a clinical setting

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:

• Current BLS Certification required.
• National certification preferred.
