Kern Medical is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Valley Fever Institute. This full-time role prefers bilingual English/Spanish candidates and involves outpatient clinic duties, patient care, and clerical support.

Expect duties spanning vitals, immunizations, specimen handling, and assist with exams. Training and certifications (BLS; CMA preferred) are required or pursued on hire. Competitive benefits and shift differentials apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Possess and maintain a current BLS card; complete RQI Responder within 60 days if not on hire.
• Some assignments may require Basic Dysrhythmia certification.
• Medical Assistant II requires CMA or certification through a recognized body.

Responsabilités

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares them for exams; records vital signs and chief complaints.
• Administers immunizations and medications; performs office tests and collects specimens for labs.
• Applies dressings, removes sutures, and assists with exams and minor surgeries.
• Acts as liaison between provider and patient; handles referrals and charting duties.
• Maintains clean and stocked clinical areas; processes forms for referrals and eligibility.
