Kern Medical in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Pediatrics Clinic. This full-time role prefers bilingual English/Spanish candidates and involves patient prep, vitals, immunizations, and exam assistance in an outpatient setting.

Requires a high school diploma or GED with completion of an accredited MA program, current BLS, and CMA credentials. The position offers a competitive hourly rate with premium pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) required; must obtain RQI Responder certification within 60 days if not possessed.
• Certified Medical Assistant credential required (through AAMA, AMT or California Certifying Board).
• Some assignments may require Basic Dysrhythmia certification.

Responsabilités

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares for exam; records vital signs and chief complaints.
• Administers immunizations and medications; conducts office testing as ordered; prepares specimens.
• Assists provider with exams and minor procedures; acts as chaperone when needed.
• Maintains sterile technique; cleans, disinfects, and stocks exam rooms and equipment.
• Answers phone calls and documents encounters in medical records; handles referrals and eligibility paperwork.
