Job summary

Families First Pediatrics in Utah is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. You will work with a provider for sick and well visits, room patients, take medical histories, obtain vital signs, collect specimens, perform basic lab tests, and assist with in‑office procedures.

Candidates must be a Certified Medical Assistant or graduate from an accredited program, with strong communication skills, compassion for patients and families, and basic computer knowledge.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant or graduate from an accredited program.
• Previous MA work experience desired; pediatrics preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with providers, staff, and patients/parents.
• Capable of prioritizing multiple job demands and work in a fast-paced health care environment.
• Demonstrate compassion and understanding for the patient and families.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and take medical history.
• Obtain vital signs and document symptoms/complaints.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Perform basic laboratory tests.
• Update patient charts; ordering lab tests as needed.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by the provider.
• Assist with in-office procedures (suturing, casting, circumcisions, etc.).

Job Description:

In this position, as a Certified Medical Assistant, you will work alongside a provider seeing patients for both sick and well visits. Some of your duties will include rooming patients, taking patient medical history, obtaining vital signs and symptoms/complaints, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, performing basic laboratory tests, updating patient charts, ordering various lab tests, preparing and administering medications as directed by the provider, assisting with in-office procedures (sutures, casting, circumcisions, etc.), and other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant; will consider graduates from accredited programs.
• Previous MA work experience desired; experience in Pediatrics preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with providers, staff, and patients/parents.
• Capable of prioritizing multiple job demands and work in a fast-paced health care environment.
