Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group in Canandaigua is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our medical team. The position requires healthcare experience and supports physicians in medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures while performing clinical and clerical tasks in a busy office.

Schedule: Full time, 30+ hours per week with Mon-Fri availability and rotating Saturdays; prior dermatology experience is preferred and EMR proficiency is expected. Competitive hourly pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience is required.
• Dermatology experience preferred.
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
• Strong computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Open availability to work weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere for patients.
• Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures.
• Record prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization and procedures within established guidelines.
• Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability.
• Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift.
• Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed.
• Daily scan all retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies and alert Head MA and/or GM of any low level supplies.
• Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested.
• Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities.

Job Summary

Full-Time Medical Assistant at our (Canandaigua) Office. The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing the highest quality of medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a medical setting. Previous healthcare experience is required. We employ college graduates and gap year students who have an interest in the medical field, whether you have majored in the sciences or are switching tracks, we want to help you on your journey!

Schedule: Full time, 30+ hours. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours (7a-7:30p). Open Flexibility to help cover in a team environment is needed.

Responsibilities

• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s)
• Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures
• Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization and procedures within established guidelines
• Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability
• Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure all is in proper working order
• Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed
• Daily scan all retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies and alert Head MA and/or GM of any low level supplies
• Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested
• Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities

Qualifications

Hourly Pay Range: $18 - $22
