Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant in Florida to support physicians during medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures. You will help record treatments, prep exam rooms, manage patient flow, and ensure supplies are stocked and in proper working order. Open weekday availability and weekend coverage are required.

The role emphasizes patient-facing care, professionalism, and collaboration within a busy dermatology practice, with opportunities for ongoing training and growth.

Qualifications

• Dermatology experience required.
• Healthcare experience required.
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
• Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance service quality.
• Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures.
• Record prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions and prior authorizations.
• Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate next steps.
• Prep rooms and ensure equipment is in proper working order.
• Provide pre-care and post-care instructions as needed.
• Monitor inventory and alert when supplies are low.
• Attend in-house training and continued education opportunities.

Schedule: Full time, 30+ hours. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7am-7pm. Open Flexibility to help cover in a team environment is needed.

Medical Assistant

• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s)
• Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures
• Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization and procedures within established guidelines
• Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability
• Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure all is in proper working order
• Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed
• Daily scan all retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies and alert Head MA and/or GM of any low level supplies
• Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested
• Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems
• Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Excellent patient relation and customer services skills
• Open availability to work during weekdays and weekends
