Job summary

Conservative Care Occupational Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to ensure smooth front-office operations and support in back-of-house tasks. You will greet patients, manage check-in/out, schedule, verify insurance, and assist the clinical team while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The ideal candidate has CMA/CMAA/RMA credentials, strong communication, and comfort with EHRs and MS Office. Full-time hours, no weekends, located in Kansas City.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active Medical Assistant certification/degree (CMAA, CMA, RMA)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; professional interactions with patients, providers and team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and comfortable learning EHR software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Manage check-in/check-out: schedule appointments, verify demographics and insurance, update records.
  • Answer and route phone calls, respond to inquiries and support front-desk communication.
  • Collect co-payments, outstanding balances and insurance details accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized reception area and ensure documentation is scanned/entered into the EHR.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, data entry and supporting the clinic team.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to optimize patient flow and communication.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality per HIPAA, contributing to an efficient clinic environment.
  • Work in back of house with taking vitals, checking rooms, and assisting the provider.

We’re looking for a Medical Assistant who will play a vital role in providing a welcoming, organized, and patient-focused experience for everyone who walks through our doors, as well as will need to have Medical Assisting experience/certifications to help out with back of house.

Position Summary:

As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, the Medical Assistant ensures our clinic’s front-office operations run smoothly and professionally, as well as work in the back of house. Clinic Schedule

Our Kansas City clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with no weekends.
This position is full-time, 40 hours per week.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Active Medical Assistant certification/degree (CMAA, CMA, RMA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a clinic or healthcare environment where scheduling, insurance verification and patient registration were key functions.
