Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group in Boca Raton is hiring a Full-Time Medical Assistant to perform high-quality clinical and clerical tasks in a dermatology setting. Prior healthcare experience is required, and we welcome graduates and gap-year students who are pursuing a medical field.

You will assist physicians with medical, cosmetic and laser procedures, maintain patient flow, prep rooms, manage supplies, and participate in training. Open weekday schedule with some Saturdays, 30+ hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Dermatology experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience required.
• Nationally certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
• Computer savvy with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance service and care.
• Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures.
• Record prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions and prior authorizations.
• Understand provider-to-patient flow and anticipate steps.
• Prep rooms before and after patients; check equipment each shift.
• Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions.
• Monitor retail/cosmetic product and supply levels daily.
• Attend in-house training and education opportunities.

Job Summary:

Full-Time Medical Assistant at our Boca Raton Office. The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing the highest quality of medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a medical setting. Previous healthcare experience is required. We employ college graduates and gap year students who have an interest in the medical field, whether you have majored in the sciences or are switching tracks, we want to help you on your journey!

Schedule

Full time, 30+ hours. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7:00am-7:30pm. Open Flexibility to help cover in a team environment is needed.

Medical Assistant

• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s)
• Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures
• Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization and procedures within established guidelines
• Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability
• Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure all is in proper working order
• Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed
• Daily scan all retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies and alert Head MA and/or GM of any low level supplies
• Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested
• Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities

Qualifications

• Dermatology experience preferred
• Healthcare experience required
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred
• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems
• Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Excellent patient relation and customer services skills
• Open availability to work during weekdays and weekends
