Job summary

Concentra, Inc. is seeking a Medical Support Specialist for our Potrero Hill, San Francisco location. This role supports clinicians, conducts routine medical procedures, and assists with patient flow and documentation to ensure a high-quality patient experience.

The MSS will perform DOT/non-DOT testing, vital signs, vaccines/ancillary testing, and rapid screens while maintaining HIPAA compliance and strong customer service. Join a team focused on safe, efficient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, or at least 1 year of direct patient care as a medical assistant.
• At least six months or more of medical assistant experience.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology; occupational medicine knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations including vital signs and ancillary testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Triage emergencies and manage routine medical procedures as ordered by clinician.
• Prepare and assist with procedure setup and injury care; apply dressings and splits as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME per clinician orders per state regulations.
• Maintain supplies, clean rooms/equipment, and stock exam rooms; operate medical devices with calibration and record-keeping.
• Document accurately and perform front/back office duties: greet patients, check in/out, verify authorization, answer multi-line phones.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and participate in staff meetings/huddles; maintain neat appearance and training compliance
