Job summary

Concentra, Inc. is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to perform routine medical and testing procedures under direct supervision, while also supporting registration and referral management.

You will deliver efficient, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting and ensure a positive patient experience from arrival to departure. The role includes assisting clinicians, conducting screenings, managing documentation, and upholding HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred
• Or at least one year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant
• Military medical specialist experience (must meet credentials in the state of employment)

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Prepare patients for physical examinations including vital signs and ancillary testing
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.)
• Assist providers during examination and treatment
• Triaging emergent patients as needed
• Prepare and assist clinician with procedure set up and injury care
• Apply bandages, dressings and splints
• Dispense medications and DME as ordered
• Maintain and calibrate medical devices and record keeping
• Maintain supplies and clean/stock rooms
• Notify supervisor if equipment or supplies are needed
• Assist with patient flow and communicate wait times
• Handle front/back office clerical tasks and documentation
• Ensure HIPAA compliance
• Attend staff meetings and training
• Maintain neat facility appearance
• Complete monthly clinical competency training
