Job summary

Summit Health Management is seeking a Medical Assistant in New Jersey to support physicians, PAs or NPs with patient care, clerical duties, and ensuring smooth patient flow. Responsibilities include room preparation, vital signs, and accurate documentation in the EHR and PMS systems.

Travel to satellite offices may be required. The role requires a medical assistant or phlebotomy program graduate, 0–1 year of experience (2–4 preferred), and BLS certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related work experience required; 2-4 years preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the examination room.
• Escort patient into the room and maintain patient flow.
• Ensure the room is clean after exams and supplies are stocked.
• Document appropriately in EHR and review medication lists.
• Enter orders and schedule appointments in PMS and EHR; provide referrals as needed.
• Demonstrates safety with disposal of medical waste and maintains proficiency with equipment.
