Job summary

PPMM is seeking a Health Services Specialist I in Sacramento. This full-time position offers an hourly wage of $23–$25 USD and involves direct patient services, information provision on Planned Parenthood offerings, and clerical duties in the health center.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking ability, and basic computer skills to document histories, schedule visits, and assist with routine lab tasks. Evening and weekend shifts may be required to support patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to communicate sensitive information across diverse backgrounds (verbal and written).
• General knowledge of Windows-based computer applications and willingness to learn new computer skills.
• Ability to work in a busy environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct service in health center areas including reproductive health and abortion as appropriate.
• Provides patients with information regarding Planned Parenthood services, contraception options and funding.
• Screen financial, medical and social history with correct documentation.
• Enter accurate patient information into the electronic system and manage scheduling and billing.
• Perform basic lab testing and prepare samples for transfer to labs.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms, equipment and prepare exam areas for patients.
