Job description

Medical Institute of Healthy Aging (MIHA) is the first-of-its-kind medical clinic exploring a new field of medicine called Valengerontology. Patient care remains the focus of the clinic but in a different paradigm than the “disease-centric” model. Rather than the reactive, “fix it after it breaks” approach to treating patients, the model of MIHA is to be proactive by trying to assess the aging parameters of its clients/patients so that therapies to heal the body as a whole are employed. The organ system specific damage that have evolved from the focus of disease is redesigned to a more basic understanding related to more basic metabolic process (eg genetic predisposition, inflammation, microbiome compromise, hormone imbalances, toxicity). By taking this view and being more proactive, the process of improving the medical condition can be more personalized and precise and hopefully also preventative.

We are looking for an experienced medical assistant who is a critical thinker, able to take initiative with little direction, and has an interest in alternative health care.

Duties include:

  • Supervise clinical workflows and team assignments to ensure seamless flow between front and back office.
  • aesthetic skin treatments
  • Effectively train new and existing staff and implement competency checklists for each.
  • Perform standard MA duties including daily preparation of exam rooms in the clinical area for patient care and stocking of all necessary supplies.
  • Properly greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms, taking the required vital signs and obtaining urine specimens; performing dip urinalysis and review when indicated.

  • Triage patient calls for pharmacy requests, test results, medical questions and concerns as directed by the physician; documenting outcomes in EHR.
  • Ensure consistent and adequate inventory and call & receive orders
  • Oversee maintenance of all logs and records for OSHA/HIPAA.
  • Demonstrate proper sterilization and disinfection practices throughout the facility and hold MA staff accountable to same standard.
  • Demonstrate proper bio-hazardous or “red bag” waste policy and procedure for proper disposal of biomedical waste and hold MA staff accountable to same standard.
  • Travel to other sites within a reasonable geographic region to assist with clinical operations and/or training.
  • Preparation and administration of intravenous solutions including blood products
  • PhysioAge
  • Actively manage IRB studies
  • Perform other office duties as assigned by Physician/Manager.
  • Looking for someone with a positive attitude and the ability to handle constructive criticism
