Job summary

UF Health in Jacksonville seeks a Medical Assistant to deliver compassionate patient service and support clinical and administrative tasks under supervision. You will greet patients, assist in scheduling, collect specimens, perform basic lab procedures, and support the treatment team.

Requirements include CMA certification, BLS, and completion of an accredited MA program; a HS diploma is required. Travel up to 25% may be required as part of role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year medical assistant experience.
• 2–4 years clerical/customer service in healthcare preferred.
• 1 year experience with third-party payors and data entry.
• CMA certification required within 6 months; BLS required at time of hire.
• Completed MA program accredited by NCCA or equivalent; HS diploma/GED required.

Responsibilities

• Receives and directs messages to appropriate personnel.
• Maintains patient scheduling and registers patients.
• Perform venipuncture and administer routine medications under supervision.
• Collect routine lab specimens and take vital signs.
• Travel up to 25%.
