Job Details

Responsibilities include accurate reporting and documentation of patient status, care rendered, and provider orders; medication refills and compliance with ARC refill protocols; rooming patients, taking and documenting vital signs, and preparing patients for provider exams; performing diagnostic testing such as EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, and visual screenings; monitoring and ordering medical supplies; cleaning patient rooms and maintaining equipment; adhering to clinic protocols and company policies; and working holiday shifts as required. The role also involves assisting providers with sigmoidoscopy exams and cardiac stress testing, maintaining equipment, and following core competencies set by the company.

Staff Medical Assistant Responsibilities
  • Provides patients with educational materials as directed.
  • Administers medication under physician’s direction within scope of practice as demonstrated by completion of training and testing.
  • Reviews result notes and calls/informs patients of normal lab results.
  • Reviews provider instructions regarding abnormal results.
Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must meet one of the following:
    • Medical Assistant experience.
    • CNA/EMT/PCT (or other comparable experience) providing direct patient care beyond activities of daily living, including manual vitals and medication/injection administration.
    • Graduate of a medical assistant program.

Preferred

  • Six (6) months or more experience as a Medical Assistant.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to administer medications and injections within scope of position within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational, phone listening, customer service, verbal and written communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and engage others while adapting responses to meet their needs.
  • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.
  • Ability to perform job duties professionally at all times and apply common sense in performing tasks.

Certificate/License

  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card or within 60 days of hire required.
Work Schedule

Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
