Christie Clinic's Float Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to provide professional patient care in a clinic setting. The role requires working Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with travel to Christie Clinic locations within a 60-mile radius of Champaign, IL.

Quarterly retention bonuses are available after 90 days of employment with the Float Team. Responsibilities include room preparation, chart updates in the EMR, assisting providers with procedures, and patient education

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous health care experience preferred.
• CPR Certification required.
• CNA certificate and/or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointments.
• Restock and clean rooms at day end.
• Update patient medical records in the EMR with allergies, medications, and visit notes.
• Enter and review lab orders and specimens; communicate with patients as needed.

Christie Clinic's Float Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (Quarterly Bonuses Available) from Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements.Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patient following established standards and practices. Travel to all Christie Clinic locations required with reimbursement for mileage and travel time (per IRS guidelines). Christie Clinic has locations in a 60-mile radius of Champaign, Illinois. Quarterly retention bonus opportunity available for team members in good standing after 90 days of employment with the Float Team.JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointment.Clean and restock rooms at the end of the day.Perform chart preparation according to department standards.Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.Appropriate use of flag system per standard work.Review and respond to the electronic medical record work list per department standard work.Complete lab order entries and appropriately handle patient specimens (including communication to patient per department standard work), as needed.Assists providers with procedures/surgery, as needed.Assist in patient education relating to medication instructions, procedures, wound care, or any other necessary information pertaining to patient care.Perform related work as required.Travel to satellite Christie Clinic locations to cover departmental needs.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalentPrevious health care experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate and/or graduation from an accredited program for medical assistants preferred.CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:CPR CertificationTYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, a normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office and lab equipment is required.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:Work is performed in a clinical office setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment.
