Job description

Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire an individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant.

This is a part-time role with Float Pool.

The Medical Assistant Float Pool position will support one or more regions which would include the Peninsula (Gloucester, Williamsburg), Hampton Roads (Virginia Beach, Suffolk), or Northern North Carolina (Elizabeth City, Moyock). Required to support Wakefield and Carrollton as needed.

Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility that is needed for this role.

Overview

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Education

1. High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
2. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

1. Active CMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)
2. BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Experience

1. 1 year of clinical or administrative experience (Required)
2. Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
