Overview:

Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire a Medical Assistant for a part-time role within the Float Pool. This position supports multiple regions including the Peninsula (Gloucester, Williamsburg), Hampton Roads (Virginia Beach, Suffolk), and Northern North Carolina (Elizabeth City, Moyock), with support for Wakefield and Carrollton as needed. Differential pay is provided for travel and flexibility.

The Medical Assistant Float Pool will perform patient care and administrative tasks as delegated by physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, or licensed practical nurses, based on training and competency.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certifications/Licensure:

  • Active CMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of clinical or administrative experience (Required)
  • Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
