Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in examination and treatment, document patient information in the EMR, and prepare charts for visits. The role involves assisting with phlebotomy, EKGs, and routine clinical duties while maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Required are 2–5 years of MA experience, a high school diploma or higher, and completion of an MA program. Strong computer skills and travel to other offices as needed are essential.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree and/or Certified/Registered MA preferred.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or prior Medical Assisting experience required.
• 2 to 5 years MA or relevant experience preferred; practice in different care settings.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, EMR and scheduling systems) required.
• Strong verbal and social skills to work respectfully with patients, physicians, visitors, coworkers, and reps; travel to other offices as requested.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient flow during clinic hours and documents review of systems; records vital signs and medical history.
• Prepares patient charts in EMR for visits by scanning and reviewing reports to ensure completeness.
• Refills medications and pre-authorizes with patients, pharmacies, and insurers as needed; manages samples and disposals.
• Obtains medical information to support decision making; responds to MyChart; manages calls, scheduling, and pre-certifications.
• Operates EKG and monitors equipment; conducts phlebotomy and minor clinical tasks as assigned.
• Maintains safety and confidentiality; adheres to regulations and quality measures.
