Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist in examination and treatment under physician direction. You will support patient flow, document history, and maintain EMR records with accuracy.

Responsibilities include chart preparation, referrals and pre-certifications, medication refills, and basic clinical tasks such as EKGs and phlebotomy. Excellent communication and compliance with safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or prior MA experience preferred.
• 2 to 5 years MA or relevant experience preferred; primary care or specialty settings beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient flow during clinic hours and document review of systems; measure vitals.
• Prepare patient charts in EMR for visits and ensure all tests and records are present.
• Refill medications and pre-authorize as needed; manage samples and dispose expired meds.
• Answer calls, schedule appointments, check-in/out patients, and assist with pre-certifications.
• Operate EKG and basic diagnostic equipment; assist with phlebotomy and minor procedures.
• Maintain safe, confidential environment and adhere to legal and quality requirements.
