Henry Ford Health System's internal staffing resource pool is designed to ensure sufficient staffing throughout our health system. The department provides a proactive solution to unplanned or short-term staffing needs due to vacations, call-offs, leave of absences, or increases in census or acuity.
Medical Assistants will float to various Henry Ford clinics to provide coverage. Minimum commitment is 2 days per week, with opportunities to work up to a full schedule. Must be flexible regarding location and clinic.
Hours are primarily Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts. Occasional weekend opportunities are available (optional) with a pay differential.
Under the direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in providing quality and compassionate care. These duties include greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms, taking medical histories, measuring and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations or procedures, and assisting physicians during examinations or procedures. Demonstrates clinical competence as a Medical Assistant.
Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care. Basic computer and keyboarding skills are required. Successful completion of the HFMG pharmacology class and test is also required.
