Base pay range

$40,000.00/yr - $52,300.00/yr

A Float Medical Assistant 2 is the first point of contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative duties in addition to patient care.

Medical Assistant 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically, it works on semi-routine assignments.

Please note: This is a FLOAT position and will require you to work between offices in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area as business needs require. Your home is our 3500 N. Roxboro, Durham location. Mileage will be reimbursed for travel between clinics.

This Position qualifies for a $2000.00 Sign-on Bonus

The Medical Assistant 2 performs clinical duties such as discussing symptoms, gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system, taking vital signs, giving injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site.

• Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses.
• Delivers direct patient care dependent on active certification.
• Decisions focus on interpretation of policies and methods for completing assignments.
• Works within defined parameters, with some latitude over prioritization and timing, under minimal direction, following standard policies/practices with some opportunity for interpretation/deviation or discretion.

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of MA school/training program or certification/registration as Medical Assistant, or 5+ years of experience with provider approval.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR Certified.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Medication/vaccine administration experience.
• This role is patient-facing and part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. Screening for TB is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified or Registered (Arizona, Indiana, & South Carolina candidates require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration).
• 1+ years of MA experience.
• Value-Based Care experience, including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish; must pass proficiency exam.

This position is patient-facing and part of Humana’s TB screening program. Screening is required if selected.
