Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a Float Medical Assistant to support our physicians in delivering advanced care across clinic settings. The role emphasizes flexibility, teamwork, and hands-on patient care, including x-ray assistance and room preparation.

Ideal candidates have podiatry or orthopedic exposure, MA certification is a plus, and strong EMR skills. This full-time position requires reliable transport and willingness to travel to surrounding clinics.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant; MA Certification is a plus
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred
• X-ray experience is a plus
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience working in an EMR – preferably Athenahealth EMR
• Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills
• Empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor with each interaction
• Stable work history and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass background check and drug test

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for the physician
• Complete exam intake including medical history and related info
• Ensure accurate charting for the physician
• Provide patient care under podiatric physician supervision including taking and developing x-rays
• Perform daily administrative tasks such as stocking exam rooms and disposal of trash
• Sterilize exam and x-ray rooms and instruments daily
• Support quality measures and audits
• Travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support if needed
• Coordinate with Nurse Practitioners and Care Navigators as needed

About the Medical Assistant Role

Upperline Healthis seeking an energetic, compassionate, and drivenFloat Medical Assistantto assist our physicians in delivering complex health services in the clinic setting. Responsibilities will be varied, and candidates must be flexible problem solvers and collaborative team players who are eager to learn as well as tackle problems. Ideal candidates will have podiatry or orthopedic experience and x-ray experience.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

• Place patients in exam rooms, ensuring that they are ready and comfortable for their appointment with thephysician

• Complete exam intake, including but not limited to, reviewing the patient's medical history, social history, surgical history, and the history of presentillness

• Ensure accurate charting for the physician

• Provide patient care under the direction of a podiatric physician including taking and developing x-rays and assisting in the exam room asrequired

• Perform daily administrative tasks such as stocking all exam rooms and disposing of exam roomtrash

• Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing exam and x-ray rooms both after each patient visit and at the end of eachday

• Sterilize instrumentsdaily

• Satisfy and document appropriately required qualitymeasures and audits

• Travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support if needed

• Support the connection of our patients to our extended care team of Nurse Practitioners and Care Navigators, where and when needed

Medical Assistant Qualifications:
