Upperline Health Inc. seeks a Float Medical Assistant to support physicians with a range of clinical and administrative tasks in the clinic setting. The role covers Jacksonville and Fernandina as needed, requiring flexibility, teamwork, and a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience; MA certification preferred.
• Podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience using EMR systems, preferably athenahealth EMR.
• Effective communicator with good grammar and interpersonal skills.
• Empathetic, compassionate, professional demeanor in interactions.
• Stable work history and reliability, with background check/drug test clear.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for the physician visit.
• Complete exam intake, including medical and social history and HPI.
• Ensure accurate charting for the physician.
• Take and develop x-rays and assist in the exam room as needed.
• Stock and dispose of exam room supplies and trash daily.
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after each patient day.
• Satisfy quality measures and audits as required.
• Travel to nearby clinics to provide support as needed.
• Coordinate with Nurse Practitioners and Care Navigators when required.

About the Medical Assistant Role

Upperline Healthis seeking an energetic, compassionate, and drivenFloat Medical Assistantto assist our physicians in delivering complex health services in the clinic setting.This person will cover Jacksonville and Fernandina as needed and will be responsible for supporting the physician with a range of clinical and administrative tasks.Responsibilities will be varied, and candidates must be flexible problem solvers and collaborative team players who are eager to learn as well as tackle problems. Ideal candidates will have podiatry or orthopedic experience and x-ray experience.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms, ensuring that they are ready and comfortable for their appointment with thephysician
• Complete exam intake, including but not limited to, reviewing the patient's medical history, social history, surgical history, and the history of presentillness
• Ensure accurate charting for thephysician
• Provide patient care under the direction of a podiatric physician including taking and developing x-rays and assisting in the exam room asrequired
• Perform daily administrative tasks such as stocking all exam rooms and disposing of exam roomtrash
• Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing exam and x-ray rooms both after each patient visit and at the end of eachday
• Satisfy and document appropriately required qualitymeasures and audits
• Travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support if needed
• Support the connection of our patients to our extended care team of Nurse Practitioners and Care Navigators, where and when needed

Medical Assistant Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant; MA Certification is a plus
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experiencepreferred
• X-ray experience is aplus
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Previous experience working in an EMR – preferablyathenahealthEMR
• Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonalskills
• Exceptional customer service orientation featuring an empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor with eachinteraction
• Demonstrated experience as a motivated and dedicated team member with a stable workhistory
• Reliable transportation and the ability to pass a background check and drug test isrequired
