Job summary

Upperline Health Inc. is seeking a Float Medical Assistant to support physicians in delivering complex health services in the clinic setting. The role covers Port Orange, Daytona Beach, and New Smyrna as needed and involves a range of clinical and administrative tasks.

Ideal candidates have podiatry/orthopedic experience and X-ray skills, with MA certification a plus. Strong communication and EMR proficiency are required; travel within the region may be involved.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant; MA Certification is a plus.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with an EMR system, preferably Athenahealth.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation and ability to pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prep them for the physician.
• Complete exam intake and review medical history and prior records.
• Ensure accurate charting for the physician.
• Assist in exam room and take/develop X-rays as needed.
• Perform daily administrative tasks and maintain exam room cleanliness.
• Travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support if needed.
• Coordinate with care team to connect patients with extended care.

About the Medical Assistant Role

Upperline Healthis seeking an energetic, compassionate, and driven Float Medical Assistant to assist our physicians in delivering complex health services in the clinic setting. This person will cover Port Orange, Daytona Beach and New Smyrna as needed and will be responsible for supporting the physician with a range of clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities will be varied, and candidates must be flexible problem solvers and collaborative team players who are eager to learn as well as tackle problems. Ideal candidates will have podiatry or orthopedic experience and x-ray experience.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

Place patients in exam rooms, ensuring that they are ready and comfortable for their appointment with thephysician

Complete exam intake, including but not limited to, reviewing the patient's medical history, social history, surgical history, and the history of presentillness

Ensure accurate charting for thephysician

Provide patient care under the direction of a podiatric physician including taking and developing x-rays and assisting in the exam room asrequired

Perform daily administrative tasks such as stocking all exam rooms and disposing of exam roomtrash

Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing exam and x-ray rooms both after each patient visit and at the end of eachday

Satisfy and document appropriately required qualitymeasures and audits

Travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support if needed

Support the connection of our patients to our extended care team of Nurse Practitioners and Care Navigators, where and when needed

Medical Assistant Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant; MA Certification is a plus

Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experiencepreferred

X-ray experience is aplus

Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology

Previous experience working in an EMR - preferablyathenahealthEMR

Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonalskills

Demonstrated experience as a motivated and dedicated team member with a stable workhistory
