Job summary

Bay Area Foot Care, a leading podiatry practice serving the Bay Area with 15 locations, seeks a hardworking medical assistant to support physicians and staff in delivering patient care and maintaining smooth clinic operations.

Ideal candidates will have MA certification, EMR experience (Athena preferred), CPR certification, and strong communication and organizational skills to manage patient files and assist with exams and procedures.

Qualifications

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Strong organizational and clerical skills to manage patient files and office duties.
• Customer service skills and knowledge of safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients on the phone and in person.
• Escort patients to the exam rooms and prepare them.
• Take vital signs and assist with examinations and procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient files and documentation.
• Apply dressings, bandages, and splints as ordered by the podiatrist.
• Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment and HIPAA compliance.

Bay Area Foot Care is a leading podiatry practice in the Bay Area dedicated to helping people of all ages and lifestyles get back to enjoying the activities they love. We have 15 convenient locations in the East Bay, North Bay, San Francisco, and Peninsula.

Our team is looking for a hard-working medical assistant who will work with the physicians and other members of the practice by performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties. This person will work to fulfill patient needs and ensure smooth patient flow within the practice.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet patients on the phone and in person
• Place patients in the exam rooms
• Take vital signs of patients
• Assist and setup up for examination, treatment, and procedures
• Keep accurate patient files
• Apply dressing, bandages, and splints as ordered by podiatrist
• Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment
• Maintain HIPAA

Requirements

• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
• Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound
• Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties
• Customer services skills
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
• Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of training
• EMR Experience, Athena experience is a plus
