Job summary

Bay Area Foot Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support podiatry services in a busy Bay Area clinic. You will greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and assist with examinations and procedures, ensuring accurate charting and patient comfort.

The role requires strong organizational skills, CPR certification, and EMR experience; it offers a stable full-time schedule with benefits in a supportive team setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• Certified medical assistant program or equivalent training.
• EMR experience (Athena a plus).

Responsibilities

• Greet patients on the phone and in person.
• Place patients in exam rooms.
• Take vital signs.
• Assist and set up for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Keep accurate patient files.
• Apply dressings, bandages, and splints as ordered by podiatrist.
• Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.

Bay Area Foot Care is a leading podiatry practice in the Bay Area dedicated to helping people of all ages and lifestyles get back to enjoying the activities they love. We have 15 convenient locations in the East Bay, North Bay, San Francisco, and Peninsula.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Greet patients on the phone and in person
• Place patients in the exam rooms
• Take vital signs of patients
• Assist and setup up for examination, treatment, and procedures
• Keep accurate patient files
• Apply dressing, bandages, and splints as ordered by podiatrist
• Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment
• Maintain HIPAA

Requirements

• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
• Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound
• Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties
• Customer services skills
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
• Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of training
• EMR Experience, Athena experience is a plus
