American Family Care (AFC) is a leading primary and urgent care provider in the U.S. with franchised locations and walk-in services seven days a week. Our clinics focus on episodic care and occupational medicine, with onsite labs and X-ray capabilities. AFC Franchising oversees franchise operations.

The role supports patient intake, vitals, tests, immunizations, and coordination with licensed providers in an outpatient setting. Duties and benefits may vary by franchise location.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Assisting or equivalent education/experience.
• AMT registration is preferred.
• AAMA CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit; prepare for examination.
• Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
• Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and timely.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved procedures.
• Draw blood and prepare labs for reference or in-house processing.
• Perform lab tests, quality controls, and equipment maintenance as instructed.
• Respond to lab messages and callback requests.
• Perform drug screening procedures per rules and regulations.
• Ensure immunizations are well documented and administered.
• Coordinate physician referrals and pre-certifications as needed.
• Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments and supplies.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Associate degree in Medical Assisting

AMT registered

AAMA Certified Medical Assistant preferred
