Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Central Coast is seeking a Temp Medical Assistant. Under supervision, the MA performs clinical and clerical duties, operating medical equipment and assisting with patient care across sites in San Luis Obispo or Cambria.

Role involves high-volume patient care, HIPAA adherence, and supporting efficient clinic flow. The position carries wage ranges for MA I/II with site-specific rates, and an assignment end date of 12/11/26.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited school in Medical Assisting or CMA/RMA certification required.
• If MA does not have CMA/RMA, must pass test within one year of employment.
• Minimum one year of recent medical assisting experience preferred.
• EKG, vital signs, venipuncture, injections experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in assigned Patient Care Team duties.
• Administers medications per Provider orders.
• Performs vital signs and immunization screening.
• Performs CLIA-waived tests and maintains quality controls.
• Assists with referrals and tracking for routine visits and external providers.
• Greets patients, escorts to examination room, and monitors waiting areas.
• Maintains clean and safe patient areas and documents in EMR.
