Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Central Coast is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care at our sites in California. Under supervision, the MA performs non-professional clinical duties, operates medical and laboratory equipment, and assists with patient care including routine exams and vital signs.

The role also handles clerical tasks, documentation in the electronic medical record, and may act as an interpreter when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program; CMA/RMA certification required or able to pass within one year.
• Experience with EHR and clinical software; CPT/EMR proficiency preferred.
• Bilingual (English plus another language) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in Patient Care Team duties.
• Administers medications as per provider orders.
• Measures vitals and supports immunization and screening activities.
• Prepares and handles in-house CLIA-waived tests.
• Documents in the EMR and assists with patient flow and throughput.
