Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, nurses, and other staff by facilitating patient flow, assisting with care activities, and handling administrative tasks. The role requires a High school diploma or GED and CMA eligibility with BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) / RMA / NCMA / CCMA / NRCMA required or eligible within six months.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required.
• Zero to two years’ experience in a relevant role.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assures efficient patient flow through the site: Escorts patient to exam room, identifies patient with 2 identifiers and prepares patient for examination.
• Obtains accurate vital signs and documents reason for visit, allergies, smoking history and pharmacy information.
• Anticipates/sets up equipment or supplies and maintains exam rooms.
• Assists practitioner with procedures such as ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA waived testing.
• Maintains inventory and supports opening/closing procedures.
• Performs delegated duties and communicates with the care team.
