Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, nurses, and staff by facilitating efficient patient flow, assisting with procedures, and handling related administrative duties. The role emphasizes accuracy in vital signs, documentation, and maintaining clean, safe care areas.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, appropriate MA certification within six months, BLS/CPR, and 0–2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current certification in CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA or NRCMA.
• Certification must be obtained within six months of employment.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
• Zero to two years’ experience in a relevant role.

Responsibilities

• Assures efficient patient flow through the site and prepares patients for examination.
• Obtains accurate vital signs and documents visit details and allergies.
• Assists practitioners with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations and CLIA waivers.
• Prepares, stocks and sanitizes exam rooms and maintains supplies.
• Supports patient care team and communicates effectively with patients.
