Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• National MA certification or registration required.
• CMA certification through a recognized program (AAMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA/NCCT/AMCA).
• RMA registration through AMT acceptable.
• ND MAIII registration required if employed in ND; 4 months to obtain.
• Minnesota, Iowa, SD, and OR do not require state registration.
• BLS certification required within six months.

Responsibilities

• Collect subjective and objective health data from patients and communicate to the health care provider.
• Contribute data to the patient's plan of care and follow through under supervision.
• Transmit the provider's written care instructions to patient or caregiver.
• Perform vitals, prepare patients for examinations, observe symptoms, and perform point-of-care testing.

Education

Graduate of Medical Assistant program

MA certification (AAMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA/NCCT/AMCA)

RMA registration or ND MAIII registration acceptable

BLS certification within 6 months

ND state registration considerations noted
