Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for immediate care operations at the Rome MOB location. The role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and supporting clinicians with procedures.

You will perform lab duties, administer medications and vaccines, review medications, and assist with scheduling and referrals while ensuring patient safety and high-quality care. 12-hour shifts and an as-needed schedule are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of structured military training in lieu of formal MA program.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows department policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vital signs, med history, screenings, and health maintenance.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, and waived tests per CLIA.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Performs other duties such as refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Cross-trained to support multiple clinic practices within MA scope.
• Maintains effective communication and teamwork.
