Job summary

Piedmont Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced clinical team. You will prepare patients for examinations, perform triage, document histories in our EMR, collect lab specimens, administer injections, and assist with IV starts and other clinical procedures.

Qualifications

• Education & Certification: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Experience: 1+ year of healthcare experience preferred (urgent care or ER a plus); willing to train outstanding new graduates
• Skills: Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures
• Technical Skills: EPIC EMR preferred
• Flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Team Player: A positive, proactive approach to patient care and collaboration

Responsibilities

• Patient Preparation for examinations and treatments
• Triage and Vital Signs
• Documenting Patient History in EMR
• Lab Specimens collection (blood, urine, oral swabs)
• Administer medications and injections
• Perform IV starts, catheter placements, splinting
• Clinical & Laboratory procedures to support patient care
• Support Occupational Medicine services and screenings
• Ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance
• Perform office procedures and general administrative tasks
• Oversee quality assurance and CLIA-waived requirements
• Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as needed
