Summary of Job Duties: The Medical Assistant (MA) works under the direct supervision of the clinic physician, assisting in examination and treatment of patients. Responsibilities include conducting patient interviews, measuring vital signs, recording information on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), drawing blood samples, preparing specimens for lab analysis, and preparing treatment rooms. The MA may also perform administrative tasks such as registering and scheduling patients.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Working knowledge of computers and electronic medical records

Preferred Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Two or more years of experience in an ambulatory care setting

Additional Information:

  • Preparing patients for visits, obtaining vitals, updating records, assisting with procedures, and scheduling follow-ups.
  • Communicating with providers, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring smooth patient flow.
