Job summary

Piedmont Urgent Care in Georgia is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced clinical team. You will assist with patient preparation, triage, vital signs, and thorough documentation in our EMR system, while performing routine lab collection and injections.

Responsibilities include initiating IVs, placing catheters, and supporting occupational medicine services, all within HIPAA and OSHA guidelines. This role offers growth and a strong team environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 1+ year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures.
• Experience using EMR software, EPIC preferred.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments to ensure comfort and understanding.
• Perform triage and take vital signs accurately.
• Document detailed patient history in the EMR in a timely manner.
• Collect routine lab specimens including blood, urine, and oral swabs.
• Administer medications and injections (IM, subcutaneous, intradermal).
• Start IVs, place catheters, and assist with splinting when needed.
• Support clinical and laboratory procedures to aid patient care.
• Assist with Occupational Medicine services, including drug screening and audiograms.
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance and maintain regulatory standards.
• Perform general administrative duties and operate medical equipment.
