Job summary

Piedmont Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced clinical team in Covington, GA. You will assist with patient preparation, triage, vital signs, specimen collection, injections, IV starts, and basic procedures, while ensuring compassionate, compliant care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 1+ year of healthcare experience preferred (urgent care or ER a plus).
• Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures.
• Experience using EMR software, EPIC preferred.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Patient preparation for examinations and treatments.
• Perform triage and record vital signs.
• Document patient history in EMR in a timely manner.
• Collect routine laboratory specimens (blood, urine, swabs).
• Administer medications and injections as directed.
• Start IVs, place catheters, and assist with basic procedures.
• Support occupational medicine services and screenings.
• Maintain HIPAA/OSHA compliance and quality standards.
• Perform office procedures and operate medical equipment.
• Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as needed.
