Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care in Avon, CT is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient intake, vitals, specimen collection, and room preparation in our urgent care center.

You will handle registration, co-pays, referrals, and assist the provider during exams while maintaining clean, stocked exam rooms and accurate charting. We offer competitive pay, monthly incentive, sign-on bonus up to $3,500 for external candidates and strong benefits.

Formación

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire, through ARC or AHA.
• Certification options: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA; or acceptable MA experience.
• If MA certification not held, Master/Graduate of Nursing or EMT, CNA accepted; CPOE cert within 2 weeks.

Responsabilidades

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Answer patient questions and keep them informed of status.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Perform vitals and assist provider during exams.
• Maintain stocked exam rooms and facility cleanliness.
• Document daily controls and calibration of equipment.
