Job summary

Community-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support providers, radiologic technologists, and patients in a fast-paced, patient-facing setting.

In this role you’ll verify insurance, prepare patients for examinations, perform point-of-care testing, document medical histories, assist during visits, handle front desk tasks, and help maintain organized exam rooms and medical records while delivering compassionate care to every patient.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification is REQUIRED at time of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility.
• Room patients and prepare them for examination.
• Record medical history and vital signs.
• Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG).
• Assist providers during patient visits and communicate patient needs.
• Process co-pays and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms and front desk areas.
• Manage medical records, documentation, and patient communications.
• Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries.
• Support daily clinic operations including opening/closing duties.
