Job summary

Optum is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care, support physicians, and coordinate with the care team to deliver seamless service. The role involves clinical tasks, specimen handling, and e-prescription prep within established policies.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year MA experience or national MA certification, with CPR/BLS preferred. Benefits include PTO, holidays, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years as Medical Assistant in medical office, clinic or hospital OR national MA certification.
• Graduate of an accredited MA program preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence in direct patient care and assists MDs with procedures.
• Performs clinical duties per CareMount Medical policies and standards.
• Proactively addresses patient and family needs; communicates needs timely.
• Directs patients to exam rooms promptly.
• Assists with exams and office diagnostics/treatments.
• Performs authorized procedures (vital signs, vision screening, selected labs).
• Prepares e-prescriptions for processing to pharmacies as instructed.
• Inspects and prepares instruments/equipment per guidelines.
• Processes specimens for transport to laboratory with proper labeling.
