Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Medical Assistant to deliver direct patient care and support the care team, coordinating with physicians and other staff to ensure smooth, safe care.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, preparing prescriptions for processing, preparing instruments, and handling specimens. Requirements: high school diploma or GED and 1+ year MA experience or recognized MA certification; CPR/BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year MA experience in medical setting OR nationally recognized MA certification (NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, AMT, NHA).
• CPR/BLS certification preferred; graduate of accredited MA program encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in alignment with established standards and care plans.
• Assist MDs and care team with procedures and exams.
• Take vital signs and perform routine screening tasks as directed by clinicians.
• Prepare e-prescriptions and process orders in the EMR system.
• Prepare and handle instruments, equipment, and specimens per policy.
• Coordinate patient flow and escort to exam rooms to optimize clinic efficiency.
